Massage Therapy Training Beginning February 1st 2017

New massage training courses starting each month

The 500-HOUR Massage Therapy Program meets the state educational requirements of 500 hours of training to become a licensed Massage Therapist. It provides a basic well-rounded education in hands-on bodywork techniques most commonly expected by employers and the general public.

Courses in this program include the Contemporary Methods of Massage & Bodywork, which expands on the basic information presented in the Massage Therapy 'Blending Art with Science' course, and introduces Clinical experience into the training. College level anatomy, physiology and pathology, client communications, business practices and ethics.

Phlebotomy Technician Course Description

Phlebotomist draw blood from patients for testing purposes. They work under the supervision of the medical technologist or laboratory managers. You will need 100 successful sticks and 5 finger sticks to take the National ASPT Board Exam. We work with syringes, vacutainers, and butterflies. Also Monovette needles and the multiflys from Starstedt. You will also learn how to stick hands and feet.

EKG Technician Course Description

EKG Technicians are responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to record and monitor electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. This assists a physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and blood vessel irregularities. These tests include basic EKG's, Holter Monitoring (portable EKG which records activity for 24-48 hours), and Stress Tests (treadmill).

Paramedical Insurance Examiner

A Paramedical Examiner performs insurance physicals. The responsibilities may include collection of blood via a venipuncture, collecting a urine sample, obtaining the client's medical history, recording vital signs, and perofrming an EKG. It is very important to be accurate on filling out all the proper forms. The actual paramedical exam is completed in the client's home or business. Alot of traveling is required. The demand for quality examiers is tremendous. The examiner is often employed as an independent contractor, choosing the territory and hours they want to work, and may vary from one company to another.

NOTE: Must be ASPT Phlebotomy Certified or currently enrolled in Phlebotomy course recognized by ASPT. 

Open Lab Day

Available to current students and past students who would like to refresh their skills. Please see class dates/time for schedule. The cost to attend this day is $25.00. Must be paid in advance of scheduled time.

Department of Transportation - Drug Testing Specialist

Specimen collection and testing of blood, hair and urine, employment drug testing, onsite and offsite collections. NOTE: Must be ASPT Phlebotomy Certified or currently enrolled in Phlebotomy course recognized by ASPT. 

National Multi-Skilled Course / Patient Care Tech

Patient assessment: Vitals, occupied and unoccupied bed making, patient care needs, special patients care need, lifting and transferring patients, chart documentation, cather care, intake and output.

CNA Certified Nursing Assistant Program

120 Hour Course. 65 Class/Lab Hours and 55 Clinical Hours
